The Vision of The Worship Studio

Our vision is to encourage and equip artisans to form creative communities committed to fostering personal wholeness, engaging the Holy Spirit in their creative process, artistic skill development and releasing the Glory of God through creative expression.

God has given us a 3-fold strategy for ministry in order to effectively lead artists into the fullness of what God has for their lives and creativity. The strategy includes: Wholeness, Prophecy & Creative Skill.

• Wholeness: God desires for all people to walk in complete freedom and wholeness. Through loving community, relationships, healing ministry and accountability artists will come into a deeper measure of wholeness in their life.

• Prophecy: as artists are coming into wholeness, we encourage them to hear and engage the Holy Spirit in order to understand His desire for their life and creative expression. Out of those encounters with the Lord, artists learn to respond to the voice of the Holy Spirit through their life and unique creative expression, revealing the Testimony of Jesus in the earth.

• Creative Skill: In the spirit of Bezalel & Oholiab & the musicians in the Tabernacle of David, we encourate artisans to minister skillfully before the Lord as they create and worship through creative expression. Through mentoring and training relationships with master artisans, participation in learning opportunities and practice, we will train artists to become master artisans within their chosen medium.
  • "See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, 3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts- 4 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, 5 to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of craftsmanship. " Exodus 31:2-5

The Structure of The Worship Studio

The structure of The Worship Studio is based upon our desire to be a kingdom-oriented equipping ministry that serves the local church and artisans around the world. Our goal is not to draw people unto ourselves, but rather to equip and release artisans into the life of the church and culture outside the church to make an impact.

We have 3 main programs which form the core of the ministry's DNA. The include:

1) Unlocking the Heart of the Artist: Our founder, Matt Tommey has written a 15-week small group experience called "Unlocking the Heart of the Artist" which helps artisans come into the fullness of their creative identity through the power of the Holy Spirit. This experience can be facilitated via our workbook at your location by your leadership. Topics covered include: Your Calling as an Artist in the Kingdom, Developing Your Prophetic Voice, Roadblocks to Creativity, The Artist & Community, Worshipping the Work of Our Hands and many more.

2) Unleashing the Creativity of Heaven: Through "Unleashing the Creativity of Heaven" (weekend conferences, 1 day seminars or workshops), we partner with your local church (at no cost to you) to host experiential learning and equipping events at your location for your congregation, their friends, and the surrounding community. We enhance your church's ability to equip a rich and valued part of your membership which is often under addressed due to time, manpower and financial restraints.
Working with local churches and artistic communities, we help identify, equip and release those gifted with creativity so they might better fulfill their destiny and reach the community. Through professional training and mentoring, artisans will excel in their medium and learn how to engage the Holy Spirit in the creative process.

3) Gathering of Artisans Weekend: Gathering of Artisans is The Worship Studio’s annual artist retreat in Black Mountain, North Carolina. The weekend is a national gathering of artists from every medium including music, fine art, prophetic art, fine craft, media, performing arts and more. The focus of this weekend is to bring master and emerging artists together in the context of an intimate weekend experience in order to build community, discover how to engage the Holy Spirit in our unique creative expression, skill development and collaboration.
